ITC - Thermography Brief Outline of Courses for 2012
Non certification ITC courses
Getting Started with thermography £160+VAT.
This course gives an introduction to customers operating entry level cameras. The focus is put on the camera and localisation of thermal anomalies. You will also learn how to deal with the surrounding conditions when performing simple temperature measurements, how to store your images and how to use them in reports.
Introduction to Thermography £319+VAT.
Full one day course for customers operating entry level cameras. The content includes basics of thermography, basics of emissivity and reflected apparent temperature, introduction to electrical and industrial inspections, camera handling, software installation and test. This course includes around 2 hours of camera hands on looking at manydifferent materials then an overview of report writing software.
Electrical survey and measurement for Thermography £319+VAT.
This course gives ageneral introduction to IR thermography and an overview on its specific use for inspections of electrical LV and HV systems. It aims at giving you clues on what you can do with your camera. Basics elements such as Ohms law will be covered along with discussions on case studies and typicalfaults found.
ITC Short Course Building Thermography £319+VAT
This course gives a general introduction to IR thermography and an overview on its specific use for inspections of buildings. It aims at giving you clues on what you can see with your camera. Subjects covered are conduction, convection and radiation, basic building envelope, building structures, damp and mold. A look at typical building problems and how to identify them along with surveying guidelines and reporting.
ITC short course for HVAC thermography applications £319+VAT
During this course you will be introduced to various heating systems before you learn about typical faults and how thermography helps you to locate and analyse these. Emphasis is put on case studies, selected from the field as well as practical exercises.
ITC Advanced Building Science (3 day) £935+VAT
This course is designed for operators who want to become advanced users within building thermography. Experience within thermography is mandatory . Experience of buildings is a plus. The content includes insulating materials, 1-D heat transfer in a composite structure, conduction resistance, air – wall interface, U value for simplified structure, temperature profiles, thermal bridges, thermal indexes, transient heat transfer, thermal inertia, comparison of various wall structures, humidity, dew point, vapor permeability, vapour barriers and air leaks.
Level I and Level II Certified Training Courses:
This 5 day course prepares you for qualification as a level 1 certified thermographer. You will learn about the basics of infrared, how to operate the camera under different conditions and for various purposes, how to do an appropriate judgement of the measurement situation in the field and identify potential error sources. You will be able to do IR inspections following written guidelines and to report the result of this inspection.
The level 2 course is held over five days. This course prepares you for qualification as a Level 2 certified thermographer. You will learn about topics in infrared thermography to both deepen and broaden your knowledge about infrared physics, heat science, infrared measurement equipment and its application. As a Level 2 thermographer you shall provide guidance to level 1 personnel in the areas of equipment selection, techniques, limitations, data analysis, corrective actions and reporting.
